2024-2-PL01-KA210-ADU-000291364

The Erasmus+ project “Media Literacy – The Key to Critical Thinking” , project number: 2024-2-PL01-KA210-ADU-000291364 helps adult educators promote active participation to foster media literacy and critical thinking among young adults aged 25-40 who are active users of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok) and encounter difficulties in distinguishing real content. Project timeline: 01-04-2025 – 30-09-2026

Detailed project objectives:

1. Empowering partner organizations and adult educators to combat disinformation and improve media literacy among young adults aged 25-40 who are active users of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok) and encounter difficulties in distinguishing authentic content;

2. Raising awareness among young adults aged 25-40 from partner countries (Poland, Latvia and Romania), who are active users of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok), on how critical thinking can help mitigate the harmful effects of fake news and disinformation in their daily lives.

Project results:

Three training sessions for adult educators in Poland
Latvia, and Romania, aimed at developing three deliverables: a mini-report on combating fake news in partner countries, a series of four reels countering disinformation, misinformation, malinformation, and bias, and an English-language publication on good practices for strengthening media literacy and critical thinking among young adults aged 25-40 who are active users of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok) and encounter difficulties distinguishing authentic content. In this publication, the partners will focus on practical tools and methods that help young adults break out of information bubbles, verify information, etc.;

Local workshops in Latvia, Romania, and Poland for 10 young adults aged 25-40 (from each partner) who struggle to distinguish between authentic content and are interested in developing their media literacy and critical thinking skills to combat disinformation. During the workshops, representatives of partner organizations will present three project outcomes (a mini-report on combating fake news in partner countries, a series of 4 reels countering disinformation, misinformation, harmful information (malinformation), and bias, and a publication on good practices);

Online dissemination (Facebook, Instagram, EPALE, Erasmus Results Platform) – posts about project activities, sharing 3 results: a mini-report on combating fake news in partner countries, a series of 4 reels against disinformation, misinformation, malinformation and bias, and a publication in English on good practices for strengthening the role of media literacy and critical thinking among young adults aged 25-40.
