ERASMUS+ PROJECT

Empowering Youth for Green Careers

2025-1-LV01-KA210-VET-000359472

Europe’s economy relies on SMEs and NGOs, yet only a fraction have adopted comprehensive sustainability practices. Our project addresses the ‘missing middle’ – organizations that lack the resources for expensive consultants but are eager to go green. By combining Latvian grassroots agilityNorwegian sustainability innovation, and Lithuanian VET expertise, we are building a transnational ecosystem for green vocational skills.

Key Activities

Self-Evaluation Questionnaire
You cannot manage what you do not measure. Led by LJAC, this interactive tool allows NGOs and SMEs to benchmark their ecological footprint against EU Taxonomy standards. Assess your energy, waste, and digital habits in just 30 minutes.

Green Actions Generator
Move from theory to practice. Led by Menų ir dizaino mokymo centras, this digital tool provides a generated list of ‘5R’ actions (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle). Whether you are a creative studio or a service provider, find tailored actions to reduce your impact.

Green Workplaces Guidebook
A comprehensive manual for the transition. Led by Da Vinci Nordic, this e-book features case studies from carbon-neutral Norwegian enterprises and rural Latvian initiatives, offering a step-by-step curriculum for VET educators and managers.

Main goal of the EYGC project

The “Empowering Youth for Green Careers” (EYGC) project aims to bridge the gap between environmental policy and daily practice. We help Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and Vocational Education (VET) centers transition to sustainability. By providing practical, digital tools, we empower young employees and managers to measure their carbon footprint and implement “green” changes without needing expensive consultants.

Resources are tailored for three main groups:
– Small Organizations (SMEs & NGOs): If you don’t have a sustainability department, our Self-Evaluation Questionnaire acts as your starting point.
– Vocational Educators: Teachers in VET schools (especially in design and technology) can use our Guidebook to teach students about sustainable materials and workshop safety.
– Young Professionals: Youth entering the job market can use our Green Actions Generator to bring eco-friendly innovation to their new workplaces.

As a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, all our intellectual outputs – including the Audit Tool, the Generator, and the Guidebook – are released as Open Educational Resources (OER). They are available free of charge to any organization in Europe and beyond.
